Tyler Ring

Biography
Tyler Ring is a native of Muncie, Indiana, where he graduated summa cum laude with a BFA in Dance Performance from Ball State University. He has also studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Visceral Dance Chicago.
As a performer, Tyler has danced new works by James Gregg, Banning Bouldin, Sidra Bell, Amy Miller, Dianne McIntyre, Monica Bill Barnes, and David Shimotakahara. After one season as a performing trainee with Thodos Dance Chicago, he danced with GroundWorks DanceTheater in Cleveland from 2017 to 2019 where he also served as Interim Education Outreach Director coordinating a curriculum of dance for inner city elementary schools in Northeast Ohio. Additionally, he spent one year as an Adjunct Professor with the Cleveland State University Theater and Dance Department creating new work for his students. His piece entitled The Corrected Path premiered in March of 2023 at the CSU Dance Concert at Playhouse Square. Tyler was a Guest Choreographer for the University of Akron Dance Concert in the Fall of 2023. His piece entitled And Now, I See premiered at Sandefur Theatre in December of 2023.
Presently serving on the faculty at the University of Akron along with many local dance studios, Tyler is a master teacher and choreographer located in Northeast Ohio.
