The upgrade process will begin on August 1st. On this date, the device will determine eligibility and upgrade if it is capable. This will come as a windows update and your device will notify you when it is ready. The upgrade takes about thirty minutes.
Most applications and software that are compatible with Windows 10 should work on Windows 11 without any issues. However, in a case in which software after the update isn’t working as expected, ITS can assist users in troubleshooting and remediation.
Windows 11 has specific hardware requirements. Computers will automatically determine their own eligibility and upgrade if they are able. If they are not eligible, they will not upgrade.
Some Windows 10 devices are eligible for an in-place upgrade to Windows 11, subject to compatibility. New and existing devices will be redeployed with windows 11 if they are able.
Yes, ITS will assist those users who have questions or need assistance in getting up to speed. There are also university and first- and third-party online resources to help users familiarize themselves with the new features and interface of Windows 11. We have also selected a short training through LinkedIn Learning highlighting new features and changes. We encourage users who are having trouble with the new Operating system to reach out to ITS.
User data and profiles will be migrated to Windows 11 during the upgrade process. We still recommend using OneDrive to ensure no data is lost in the upgrade. If you need assistance getting OneDrive setup, or would like ITS to verify it is functioning as intended, please reach out to us.

It should take less than an hour for the upgrade, but ITS recommends performing the update during a non-critical time of the day to give the device ample time to complete the upgrade.
