Biography
In 2014 I graduated from John Carroll University with a degree in biology, concentration in Neuroscience and a minor in Forensic Science. I became interested in the unique physiology of the retina after studying diabetic retinopathy at the Louis Stokes VA in Cleveland. In 2017 I met with Dr Jordan Renna and immediately found my place in the Integrated Bioscience Program at University of Akron.
I am specifically interested in studying the electrical activity of neurons in the developing retina. In the lab I conduct experiments such as Patch-Clamp electrophysiology, western blotting, and immunohistochemistry. I also have taken an interest in using computer models to predict behaviors of groups of neurons. By using these methods, I hope to integrate physiology, computer science, chemistry and electrical engineering into my studies.
