Frequently Asked Questions - Transfer

Here are some answers to questions you may have about your Transfer Orientation process.

Transfer orientation is online! You can complete the short course by logging in to Brightspace with your UANet ID and password. If you need assistance with either credential, please send us a quick email at nso@uakron.edu with your full name and birthdate. We are happy to assist!

The orientation hold will remain on your account until you meet with your academic advisor. During that meeting, you will register for courses and the hold will come off.

After completing your online transfer orientation, we work to get your transfer credits evaluated and posted so that your advisor has the tools to properly assist you. This process takes about a week. If you completed your online transfer orientation over a week ago and you haven’t heard from your advisor, please let us know by emailing us. We will check in on your file and send you an update!

Placement testing is occasionally required for transfer students. You will receive notification of placement test requirements via email. If you have any questions, send a message to nsotesting@uakron.edu for assistance.

There's a total of 9 sections on the Online Transfer Orientation through Brightspace. The final step is a Next Steps survey that must be filled out and completed. Several sections require completion of questions associated with the videos you watch. Please contact us if you've completed the Next Steps survey but are still receiving notifications and haven't heard from an advisor.
