Dress code
Student Recreation and Wellness Services (SRWS) strives to create an inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment. To that end, attire that presents a safety hazard or that could be reasonably perceived as intimidating, revealing, or offensive in nature is prohibited. Patrons will be asked to adjust/change attire that is determined to be unsuitable by SRWS staff.
General facility requirements
- Athletic shirt or top that covers the pectoral region through full range of motion. Sport/athletic bras designed to be worn while working out are permitted.
- Athletic shorts or pants that cover the gluteal fold through the full range of motion.
- Jeans or cargo pants/shorts are prohibited.
- Clean closed-toed athletic footwear is required at all times. Shoes must have non-marking soles. Flip-flops and “Croc” type shoes are prohibited.
- All footwear must be dry and free of dirt and snow before participating; bringing a second pair of athletic shoes is strongly recommended.
- When using stretching areas and equipment, it is recommended that a barrier (shirt, towel, etc.) be placed between you and the surface.
- Prohibited dress:
- Clothing that could potentially cause a safety hazard
- Transparent or sheer clothing
- Altered/cut shirts, pants, or shorts
- Clothing deemed potentially damaging to equipment (jeans, cargo pants, etc.)
- Clothing with messaging that a reasonable person may find offensive or otherwise inappropriate (profane language, inappropriate subject matter, etc.)
Climbing wall
- Clean, secure footwear is required when climbing
- Provided climbing shoes must be worn with socks
- Bare feet are not permitted
- Skirts and dresses are not permitted
- It is highly recommended that patrons remove all jewelry
Pool and aquatic areas
- Proper swimming attire must be worn. Cut–off's are prohibited.
- Pool users are not permitted in any other SRWS activity area in swim attire or bare feet. Proper attire and footwear must be worn outside pool areas.
