CO-OP CAREER FAIRS

Spring 2025 Career Fair

Tuesday, February 11, 2025

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (Please note the NEW TIME)

How to register:

  • You will need to register in Handshake to attend our Spring Career Fair.

Dates and deadlines:

  • Registration opens: November 4, 2024, at 8 a.m.
  • Registration closes: January 13, 2025, at 5 p.m., or when all slots are filled.
  • Final payment deadline: February 7, 2025
    • The University of Akron reserves the right to cancel registration if payment is not received by this date.
  • Cancelation deadline for 100% refund: January 13, 2025
    • No refund will be issued for cancellations received after January 13, 2025.
  • No-shows will be charged full amount due.
  • All registrations will be reviewed. Once approved, you will receive further details and an invoice for payment.

Registration fees:

Your registration fee includes two representatives, a 6-foot table with tablecloth, hospitality room, lunch for attending representatives, and parking. All displays must fit within your allotted space to avoid fire code violation. Additional representatives can be added for $25 each. If you need to increase or decrease the number of representatives after registration has been approved, please contact Heidi Mileti at hmileti@uakron.edu. The deadline to make changes to those attending the Career Fair is January 13, 2025.

Before the Fair

PRE-SCHEDULING SHIPMENTS TO UA (Available through UPS Only)

UA accepts Career Fair materials shipped via UPS ONLY. Only UPS Accepted! (UA does not have an arrangement with FedEx Ground, FedEx Express, or other carriers for these events)

We recommend that shipments arrive no earlier than the week before the fair (arrival beginning no earlier than February 3, 2025). It is advised to track your packages to ensure their arrival.

After the Fair

Drop off your pre-scheduled and labeled return shipping materials following the career fair to DocuZip, located on the second floor of the Student Union. Please note that shipments will be picked up by UPS by noon the following day.

*Note: The University of Akron is not responsible for lost, missing, stolen or damaged vendor career fair materials or personal property. Vendor’s property is solely their responsibility.

Unloading & Loading Area:

  • Prior to parking your vehicle, you may drop off your items and supplies at the roundabout loop outside the Student Union at 303 Carroll St., Akron, OH 44325 (location B on the map).
  • You may not leave your vehicle unattended at any time, and UA is not responsible for any items lost or damaged.
  • Unloading is permitted between 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM with our volunteers and staff members assisting in bringing materials to the 3rd floor ballroom.
  • After unloading your items, you may proceed to park your car.
  • If you are transporting oversize or multiple packages, please reach out to our office via email at CEPScoop@uakron.edu to make arrangements for delivery.

Employers are requested to park in Lot 36 – South Campus Parking Deck (Address: 261 E Exchange St, Akron, OH, 44304) for the Spring 2025 Career Fair. (This is indicated by location 2 on the map).

We have reserved this lot for your convenience, and you will not need to scan a QR code or use the parking.com app.

Your license plate must face the aisle so that parking attendants may scan the plate.

Parking is NOT permitted at PNC Bank (153 E Exchange St, Akron, OH 44304).

  • 8:00 AM: Employers are welcome to arrive to begin setting up their booths.
  • 8:00 AM: Employer Registration opens! Employer Registration is on the 3rd Floor of the Student Union, outside the ballroom. Please note that each member of your group must check-in. We ask that you have your booth set up by 9:45 AM.
  • 9:30 AM: Please join us for a Welcome Message from Dean Menzemer in the Ballroom
  • 10 AM – 2 PM: Career Fair
  • 2 PM: Clean up and departure

Additional Information:

  • Welcome Packet: A Welcome Packet with Career Fair instructions and information as well as your representative name tags will be placed on your table prior to arrival on the morning of the event.
  • Hospitality Room: The Hospitality Room (Room 308) will open at 8 AM with a continental breakfast offered until 10 AM.
  • Lunch: A dining card will be provided to all representatives at check-in to purchase lunch along with a list of participating locations. A sign will be provided to let students know you are away from your table for a short time.
  • Internet Access: Complimentary internet access will be available during the Fair.

If at any point in time you or a member of your team has questions, please visit the registration table outside the Ballroom.

In the event of inclement weather or other significant events on the day of the fair, please check for news on www.uakron.edu or call UA’s information phone line at 330.972.SNOW (330.972.7669).

For the following scenarios, the career fair will CONTINUE AS PLANNED:

  • If classes are cancelled but the University is OPEN, the career fair will CONTINUE as planned.
  • If classes or the University have a late start, the career fair will CONTINUE as planned.

In the unlikely event of a campus closure on the day of the Career Fair, a refund will be issued.

We have a limited number of rooms reserved for interviewing for Wednesday, February 12, 2025, Thursday, February 13, 2025, and Friday, February 14, 2025, in the Auburn Science and Engineering Center. Preference will be given to companies traveling outside of Northeast Ohio to attend the Fair. We also have spaces available for reservation at any time after the Fair for those who need additional interview dates.

Please contact The Engineering Co-op and Placement Office to reserve your space by emailing Rachel Gainer at rag79@uakron.edu. The deadline for registering for interviews is February 3, 2025.

If you need to cancel your interview reservation, we ask that you do so at least 24-hours in advance.
