We offer contract testing and core facilities services through the National Polymer Innovation Center (NPIC). With access to the School’s entire instrument portfolio, NPIC has dedicated staff experts to assist you with your analysis or processing needs. Staff also routinely engage with our faculty who consult on complex business challenges.
Akron Polymer Training Services offers short courses designed for effective workforce development in the polymer space. Traditional on-site and hands-on learning has been augmented with online courses available wherever you may be.

National Polymer Innovation Center
The National Polymer Innovation Center (NPIC) is a contract services facility at the leading edge of polymer characterization and advanced manufacturing. Supporting industry, national laboratories and the School of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering at The University of Akron, NPIC’s pilot scale roll-to-roll film manufacturing lines have produced functional films for novel solutions in complex fluids, coatings, electronics, nanoparticles, nanocomposites, adhesion, membranes, and biomaterials. NPIC also features an array of chemical, thermal, mechanical, imaging, surface, and structural characterization instrumentation capable of answering your business-critical questions.

Akron Polymer Training Services
Akron Polymer Training Services (APTS) provides a range of workforce training solutions that leverage the School of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering’s knowledgebase and capabilities. We have offerings ranging from on-site, hands-on experiential learning on our equipment to online courses viewable wherever you are.
