The study “Race, Gender, and Reproduction in the Carceral Field – A Comparative Study of Contraception and Fertility Choices” seeks to collect and analyze 40 qualitative interviews with women impacted by the criminal legal system in Ohio within the theoretical framework of reproductive justice. Data will be compared with a sister fieldsite in Portland, Oregon (PIs: Melissa Thompson, Portland State University; Daniela Jauk-Ajamie, The University of Akron). Students are involved in data transcription and analysis. |

Daniel is focusing on the association between LGBTQ+ status and mental health among UA college students. Data from surveys completed by UA students are used to identify which groups are at risk for anxiety and depression and which groups are evidencing human flourishing, mastery, and resilience. |

With UA undergrad, Gracyl Collins, Professor Moseby is engaged in a content and discursive analysis of the Black media sources to examine how HIV/AIDS was reported on from 1980s through the first decade of the 21st century. |
