Donor Spotlight
A "living laboratory" was donated by UA alumni siblings
University of Akron alumni and brothers Steve and Jerry Panzner donated over 100 acres of wetland, known as the Panzner Wetland Wildlife Reserve (PWWR) in Copley Township to UA. This "living laboratory" is a place where UA students in integrated bioscience, biology, chemistry and other disciplines can study.
The Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences has been fortunate by the contribution of The Panzner brothers as well as what other donors have committed.
A Tradition of Excellence
The Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences was founded in 1870 by Akron industrialist John Buchtel, and nurtured into a world-class university by generations of hard working Northeast Ohio residents.

The Buchtel Bulletin
This alumni e-newsletter will highlight the accomplishments of our amazing students. It takes readers inside the unique hands-on learning opportunities that happen outside of the classroom, and spotlights the innovative research and creative activity of our faculty across a wide variety of disciplines. It will also tell the stories of how our alumni utilize the world-class education they received here as they make a difference in their careers and their communities.
Our alums are truly our best ambassadors; and in these newsletters, we’ll share with you several ways in which you can partner with us to help our current students and assist us in finding future Buchtel College students.
