1. Application and submitting documents
► Before you begin the application, learn about required application materials. International students are required to submit a NACES Evaluation. We accept evaluations from SpanTran:TEC, WES or ECE and other accredited members of NACES and AICE. Applicants with university-level coursework must request a course-by-course NACES evaluation.
► Applicants must apply by the deadline. Applications started or finished after the deadline have no guarantee of being reviewed in time. See the application deadlines.

First-time student You are a high school student or have completed high school or equivalent and have never enrolled in a college/university. |
Transfer You are taking, or have completed, classes at another college/university and want to complete your degree at The University of Akron. You may have already earned an associate degree and seek another, or a bachelor's degree. |
Post-baccalaureate (post-bac) You have an equivalent U.S. bachelor's degree and want to take more undergrad classes toward another undergraduate degree. |
Exchange Exchange students are nominated by exchange partner institutions and will study for 1 or 2 semesters at UAkron. |
Guest/Transient You attend another college/university and want to take a few classes at The University of Akron before returning to your college/university. |
2. Check application status
After you have submitted your application, you will be redirected to, or receive email instructions to your Applicant Status Portal. Here you can view a personalized checklist of required materials.
The University of Akron operates on a rolling admission basis. An admission decision will be shared with you after we have received and reviewed all your required materials. You will receive your admission decision by email.
Please note: For your benefit and protection, we will only discuss applications with the applicant and those that the applicant has given us written permission to communicate information.
3. Confirm your enrollment
When your admission decision is ready to view, you will be notified by email and can find your decision letter in your Applicant Status Portal. If you are admitted, please complete the Intent to Enroll Form found in your Applicant Status Portal to confirm your spot at The University of Akron. Completing the Intent to Enroll form will provide you with your next steps for immigration, enrollment, and arrival.
4. Plan to come to UA
