Health and wellness on campus
Our on-campus health clinic Student Health Services provides quality, cost-effective, culturally competent and compassionate health care and health education. The Health Services also includes the Well Women's Clinic.
We also have a state-of-the-art on-campus Student Recreation and Wellness Center for students to keep fit and achieve work and life balance. Our facilities have received national recognition for design, amenities, safety and cleanliness. Our recreation center also provides fitness assessment and consultation.
Our Counseling Center provides free and confidential personal, career, and educational counseling for a range of concerns. There is also a Nutrition Center on campus to help students maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Living on campus
International students will live on campus for the first year and are guaranteed on-campus housing for the remaining years.

Safety at UA
The University of Akron is patrolled by our own fully commissioned police department. The department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing the campus and the neighborhoods adjoining the university with law-enforcement services that enhance safety and security.
