Biography
Lieutenant Colonel Chad Maynard enlisted in the Army on October 01, 2002. He completed Basic Training and Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Fort Benning, GA. Upon receiving his commission as a Quartermaster officer, he was assigned as a platoon leader with the 600th Quartermaster Company at Fort Bragg, NC. Six months later, he accepted the Company’s Executive Officer position. In October of 2004, Chad deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the XVIII Airborne Corps Battle Captain at the aerial port of debarkation. Following his return in October 2005, he was assigned to the 46th Corps Support Group as the Headquarters, and Headquarters Company (HHC) Executive Officer.
In April of 2006, Chad transitioned from the Active Component to the Army Reserve, where he was assigned to the 3-338th Training Support Battalion. After serving as an Observer, Controller, and Trainer (OC-T) for six months, he was asked to take command of the HHC in September 2006. Chad held that position until he was selected for the Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) program in December 2009. His first AGR assignment was as the Operations Officer with the 647th Regional Support Group in El Paso, TX. Following his first AGR tour, he permanently changed stations (PCS) in June of 2012 to the 319th Quartermaster Battalion in Twinsburg, OH, where he served as the Battalion S2/3. In June 2014, LTC Maynard was board-selected to attend the Command and General Staff College (CGSC). Upon completion of CGSC, he served as the Executive Officer for the 321st Ordnance Battalion in Charleston, WV. In May 2017, LTC Maynard accepted a nominative position as the Logistics Assignment Officer, AGR, located at U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky. LTC Maynard was selected in July 2019 to command the U.S. Strategic Command’s Army Reserve Element at Offutt AFB, Nebraska. Following command, LTC Maynard had the honor of serving as the Professor of Military Science (PMS) for The University of Akron. After a year with the university, he was selected for command again, this time serving as the Deputy Commanding Officer for Garrison Fort McCoy, where he spent two years before getting selected to attend Senior Service College (SSC). After SSC, he was chosen again to be the PMS at The University of Akron.
LTC Maynard’s military schools and education include Basic Training, Officer Candidate School (OCS), Advanced Airborne training, Aerial Delivery Material Officer Course (ADMOC), Unit Movement Officer’s Course, Conventional Physical Security course, combatives Level 1 & 2, Quartermaster Captains Career Course, Security Manager’s Course, Support Operations Course, Division Transportation Officer Course, Command and General Staff College, Reserve Component National Security Course, and The Eisenhower School of National Security and Resource Strategy. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Franklin University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Logistics from Trident University International, and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy with a concentration in Strategic Leadership.
His awards and decorations include a Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with one Silver oak leaf cluster, Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters, National Defense Ribbon, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal W/ M Device, Parachutist Badge and Parachute Rigger Badge.
LTC Maynard is a native of Millersport, Ohio, but he currently resides in North Canton, Ohio, with his wife, Samantha, and two sons, Kayson and Briggs.
