Dr. Patrick Chura, associate professor of English, has been placed on the national Fulbright Specialists Roster, a group of U.S. scholars selected by the Fulbright Scholarship Board to receive grants for short-term collaborative projects at universities around the world.
For the next five years, Dr. Chura will be eligible to deliver two lecturing and teacher-training projects of up to 6 weeks’ duration at universities in over 100 countries. In 2009, he received a Fulbright U.S. Scholars Program grant to teach American Literature and American Studies at Siauliai University in Siauliai, Lithuania.
The Fulbright Specialist Program (FSP) promotes linkages between U.S. academics and professionals and their counterparts at overseas institutions with education focused programming. Candidates for the Specialists Roster are chosen by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, which is composed of 12 educational and public leaders appointed by the President of the United States.
