Akron, Ohio, Dec. 1, 2008 - The University of Akron School of Law trial team recently returned from competing in the Battle of Ohio Competition. Student advocates Ashleigh Kendrick, Vicki Serrani, Amanda Quan, Alex Quay , Tim Gallagher, Eric Ledger, Brendan Flannery and Amanda Bizub-Franzmann participated in the competition. Eric Ledger was named Outstanding Advocate. The team was coached by trial team alumni Sandra Davenport ('07) and Aaron Howell ('06).
The Battle of Ohio, formerly known as the Cross Town Shootout, began as a fall scrimmage between the UA School of Law and Case Western Reserve University School of Law more than a dozen years ago. Over the years, the competition has grown to include nearly half of Ohio's law schools and Chase College of Law from Kentucky.
