Ohio Higher Ed Funding Commission recommends several UA projects
Today, the Ohio Higher Education Funding Commission released its report recommending that the state, through its capital budget process, provide funding for dozens of capital construction requests on campuses across Ohio. The Commission says the overwhelming majority of the recommended projects "are aimed at repairing and maintaining existing structures" to strengthen Ohio's past investments in its campuses. Other recommended projects include modernizing lab spaces or incorporating modern technology into classrooms, and replacing current systems with more energy efficient ones.
On the recommended list are several projects totaling more than $18 million at The University of Akron, including modernization projects at the Law School, research labs, Auburn Science and Engineering Center and investment in the electrical infrastructure. Also on the recommended list are maintenance and repair projects at the Wayne Campus.
