This is an in-house clinic staffed by volunteer law students. The clinic assists low-income clients with trying to obtain a pardon from the governor of Ohio. Low-income clients who have multiple criminal convictions are often unable to obtain employment or unable to use their professional degrees. You would interview the client and assist the client with completing the clemency application and the accompanying letter to the governor. You may also have the opportunity to attend a hearing before the Adult Parole Authority. Each case would take one to three hours. Please contact Professor Joann Sahl if you are interested in the clinic.
