Many students often delight in furthering their studies and cultural experiences by studying abroad. The University of Akron has added a new development to its traditional exchange programs by including faculty.
David Baker, Margaret Clark Morgan executive director of the Center for the History of Psychology and professor of psychology, and Rodrigo Lopes Miranda, a graduate student at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais of Brazil, will visit each other's home universities.

Baker will travel to Brazil this month to serve on the qualification committee for Miranda’s dissertation and as a guest speaker at a Conference on the History of Psychology in Belo Horizonte.
"This is the beginning of a program of intellectual exchange between the Center for the History of Psychology at The University of Akron and the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais," says Baker.
Miranda will spend his time at UA sifting through scholarly material in the CHP in order to complete his dissertation on the history of laboratory psychology.
"We are pleased to add an international element to the work of the Center for the History of Psychology. Our collaboration with the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais fits well with the goals of academic and inclusive excellence and the creation of globally relevant and distinctive programs," says Baker.
The new cross-cultural program is a part of the global relevance of the University's strategic plan for Vision 2020.
