UA's 16th annual TubaSummer — a sunny, summertime version of TubaChristmas — will feature summer favorites performed by tuba, sousaphone, baritone and euphonium musicians from throughout the region on Sunday, July 26, at 7 p.m. It will be on the grass amphitheatre adjacent to Guzzetta Hall and near the renowned artist Dale Chihuly's towering blue polymer sculpture. Guzzetta Hall is at 157 University Ave., across from E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall and the Goodyear Polymer Center on the UA campus. The rain location is Guzzetta Recital Hall, 139 E. Buchtel Ave.
Audience members are invited to bring picnics, blankets and lawn chairs. Free and convenient parking is available in the parking deck and surface lot on E. Buchtel Avenue, across from Guzzetta Hall. Musicians are invited to perform. The only rehearsal is the afternoon of the performance. If you're interested in performing, contact Tucker Jolly at trjolly@uakron.edu or call 330-972-8301.
