Keeping Zips Healthy: Tips for students in off-campus housing
04/20/2020
As the end of the spring semester approaches and students living in off-campus housing make plans to move out, the University wants to remind you to stay safe during the process. As you know, close interaction with family members, friends and other students while moving poses a risk of spreading COVID-19.
We encourage all Zips to follow these precautionary measures:
- Maintain social/physical distancing as much as possible during the packing and moving out process.
- Practice good hygiene – cover your coughs, wash your hands frequently and don’t touch your face.
- Wear a cloth face mask.
- Don’t let others who are sick help you move.
- If you are not feeling well, limit your exposure to others.
- Clean frequently touched surfaces which could harbor the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Specifically, clean with EPA-approved disinfectant cleaners paying special attention to the door knobs, counters, car door handles, steering wheel and seats.
If you are in need of cleaning supplies, please complete a Zips Care Package request online (specifying cleaning supplies). Direct questions to ZipAssist at uazipassist@uakron.edu.
We want to help all Zips stay healthy during these challenging times. Please take these precautions seriously to minimize your exposure.
