A Master of Science (M.S.) thesis research project allows graduate students to explore topics of interest in great depth, and with the guidance of a faculty mentor. We are proud of these recent grads for presenting their research at professional conferences.
Congratulations to Carly Leventhal, who presented her master's thesis research at the American Geophysical Union meeting in December, 2023, in San Francisco, CA.
Madison Wood presented her master's thesis research to the public at the Lorain County Metro Parks 2024 Research & Conservation Symposium on Feb. 3, 2024.
Conferences offer graduate students the chance to connect with other researchers, potential collaborators, and professionals in their field. Building a network within the scientific community can lead to future research opportunities, job prospects, and mentorship. Presenting at conferences also helps graduate students develop important communication and presentation skills. It gives them experience in articulating their research findings to diverse audiences, including both experts and non-experts in their field.
