Karl Rove
On the eve of the first Republican presidential candidate debate in Cleveland, three Northeast Ohio universities have teamed up to get an insider’s perspective from noted GOP strategist Karl Rove.
This presidential debate preview – which also serves as a scholarship fundraiser – will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Cibréo Privato, 1438 Euclid Ave., in the Playhouse Square district of downtown Cleveland.
The event is sponsored by The Ralph and Mary Regula Center for Public Service and Civic Engagement at the University of Mount Union, the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University, and the Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics at The University of Akron.
John Green to moderate
The conversation with Rove will be moderated by Dr. John C. Green, director of the Bliss Institute.
“It will be hard to know the players without a scorecard,” said Green. “Karl Rove can help provide one.”
Key topics will include what to watch for in the debate, and the candidates’ strategies to win the nomination when the Republicans return to Cleveland next year for their national convention.
Proceeds benefit scholarship funds
Proceeds from the ticket sales – which are fully tax deductible – will be shared equally for scholarships at the three universities. Ticket prices are $150 per person to attend a pre-event reception as well as the event; $75 for just the event.
Seating is limited to just 200 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit An Evening with Karl Rove to make required reservations and pay online. For additional details, contact:
