The University of Akron (UA) is encouraging high school seniors to avoid the temptation to procrastinate on their college applications. Students who apply to UA by Dec. 1 automatically will be entered into the new Future Zip Scholarship Sweepstakes and have a chance to win a $2,000 scholarship. In addition to the scholarship award, 100 runners-up will receive a UA t-shirt to show off their future Zip pride.
All high school seniors who apply to UA between Aug. 1 – Dec. 1, 2021, will have a chance to win. The $2,000 scholarship winner and 100 runners-up will be selected via a random drawing. One grand prize winner and 100 runners-up will be notified on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, via email. The $2,000 scholarship will be applied to the recipient’s bill for the 2022 - 2023 academic year.
Students can apply to The University of Akron via the UA application or by submitting the Common Application. Questions regarding the sweepstakes should be directed to the Office of Admissions by calling 330-972-7100, texting 330-574-7727, or emailing admissions@uakron.edu.
Eligible students will automatically be entered in the sweepstakes. Eligible students include domestic direct from high school applicants who applied for admission to The University of Akron for the Fall 2022 semester between Aug. 1 – Dec. 1, 2021.
