Chapter Bio: Beta Pi's Chapter at The University of Akron was chartered April 10, 1989 by Henry Brown. Brown was initiated into this great fraternity at Central State University (Alpha Mu) Chapter Spring 1988. Brown later transfered to The University of Akron where he initiated the charter line in Spring of 1989. Since then, the Beta Pi chapter of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc. has initiated hundreds of brothers and sisters into the fraternity helping charter other local chapters around Northeast Ohio such as Kent State chapter (Theta Chi), Youngstown State (Eta Zeta), and Akron Statewide Chapter (Gamma Rho Omega). One of our slogans being "All About Change, Even A Small Change" helps guide our efforts here on campus to make "Fraternity & Greek Life" on campus exciting for all our peers.
