  1. Apply through the Office of Admissions website by clicking here

    • Choose the correct applicant category and follow that link for application instructions.

  2. Once accepted by the Office of Admissions, students are automatically accepted in the program itself (there is no additional program-specific application process).

Respiratory Therapy (BS) Application Process Step-By-Step


  1. Apply through the Office of Admissions website by clicking here

    • Choose the correct applicant category and follow that link for application instructions.

  2. Once accepted by the Office of Admissions, students are may enroll as a pre-admit before formally applying to the Respiratory Therapy program.

  3. Complete the following prerequisite coursework prior to the Spring semester you wish to apply for full admission into the program:

    • Technical Math II (2030:152)
    • Technical Math III (2030:153) OR College Algebra (3450:145) OR Statistics for Everyday Life (3470:250)
    • Medical Terminology (2740:120)
    • Human Anatomy & Physiology Lecture (3100:200) and Human Anatomy & Physiology Lab (3100:201) OR Applied Human Anatomy & Physiology I (2780:206) and Applied Human Anatomy & Physiology Lab (2780:210)
    • Concepts in Respiratory Therapy (2790:100)
    • Principles of Microbiology (3100:130)
    • Introduction to General, Organic, & Biochemistry Lecture (3150:110) and Introduction to General, Organic, & Biochemistry Lab (3150:111)

    Note: All grades for prerequisite coursework above must be “C” or higher. No prerequisite course may be retaken more than once for program eligibility.

    Note: A cumulative GPA of 2.3 or higher for all coursework is required for program eligibility.


  4. By November 30 submit an application for full program admission.

Application Deadlines


Applications are due by November 30 each year.

The Respiratory Therapy program has a competitive admission process.  Are reviewed after Fall semester prerequisite course and grades and cumulative GPA has been completed.  Based on these objective criteria, applicants will be rank-ordered with the highest-ranking students selected for full admission to the program.
