The University of Akron School of Law and Sughrue Mion PLLC law firm will sponsor the 13th annual Richard C. Sughrue Symposium on Intellectual Property Law and Policy on Monday, March 21 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the John S. Knight Center in Akron.

Akron Law Trial Team is Runner-Up at ATLAC Competition
The University of Akron School of Law trial team had a strong performance at the recent Academy of Trial Lawyers at Allegheny County Competition (ATLAC, formerly Gourley) in Pittsburgh, Pa. The team, comprised of student advocates Amanda Bunner, Marissa Pappas and Nick McGroarty, finished in second place.

Akron Law Announces New Criminal Expungement Clinic
The University of Akron School of Law in cooperation with the City of Akron has announced a new initiative named the Akron Law Criminal Expungement Clinic. The City of Akron has provided Akron Law with a $10,000 grant to finance the program, which will allow Akron Law students to assist Akron residents on having their felonies expunged from their records. Students will work under the supervision of Akron Law Legal Clinic Director and Professor of Law J. Dean Carro and Akron Law graduate Aviva Wilcher, who will serve as director of the Criminal Expungement Clinic.
